Care Visions Fostering Scotland are currently recruiting Independent Panel Members.

The fostering panel provides independent oversight of the recruitment, assessment and review of foster carers and makes reasoned decisions on their suitability to foster.

Applicants should have experience either professionally/personally of the placement of children in foster families or of children being cared for away from their birth family.

We are recruiting individuals with the following backgrounds:

- medical or health

- education

- recent experience of fostering children.

- personal experience of being a looked after child.

- experience in child/adult care.

Good listening and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to make an assessment based on the written and oral information being presented, in order that the panel can discuss and make decisions in a balanced and informed manner.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people therefore this appointment is subject to a satisfactory disclosure check.

Panel members are self-employed and payment is based on a set fee per session.
