At Care Visions Fostering Scotland, we value what experienced Foster Carers bring to their role. We understand that choosing a fostering partner is an incredibly important decision and continuing to have confidence in them is just as vital. We feel that we have lots to offer existing Foster Carers; as a Scottish-owned service, which make decisions close to home, with trauma-informed support and therapeutic relationships which build confidence, resilience, and trust.
We would be keen to work with you, taking things forward at a suitable pace taking into account your current status as an approved Carer. This would be approximately 12 weeks, rather than the typical 20 weeks standard for prospective carers. We will support this transfer every step of the way. You will also be fully supported with any additional training required and specialist worker involvement.
We recognise the Transfer Protocol Process set out by the Fostering Network which recommends best practice guidelines, taking into account the needs of any child or children in placement, the Foster Carers, and the respective providers. As a Foster Carer it is your right to transfer provider and this Protocol ensures that the child in placement is not adversely affected by this change, also that you as a Foster Carer are given continuity of support and advice until your transfer is complete. We have planning meetings with yourself, the child’s social worker and your Supervising Social Worker to discuss plans and agree the process.
We can discuss your individual circumstances and be able to help guide everything from there. Some checks and references will require to be updated including your PVG, Medical and References. However, we will be able to request information from your current Agency or Local Authority, allowing us to move through the process more quickly than your initial Assessment.
If transferring sounds like something you would like to discuss, you can reach out to us directly or fill out our contact form below.
