Home of the Falkirk Wheel, the Kelpies – Falkirk, or ‘Fawkirk’ as it’s also known certainly has a lot to offer. But could Falkirk’s residents offer young people their support by becoming foster carers? We’re looking for foster families in Falkirk to look after the city’s bairns.
As a Scottish-owned fostering service, we’re proud to support foster carers in Forth Valley – from Falkirk and beyond.
Our children and young people range in age from 0-18. Sometimes our children and young people need to live with a foster family for a few weeks or sometimes they need long term support. Children are referred to us from local authorities near you, and we strive to ensure the very best matching of foster carers for the young people in our care.
Some of our Foster Carers offer short or medium-term placements, looking after a number of children over time, while others offer long term placements. Whether short or long term, we regularly get feedback from Foster Carers that fostering is among the most rewarding and fulfilling things they have ever done in their lives.
Foster carers in Falkirk can benefit from 24/7 support, excellent training, and the knowledge that we’ll be there for you so that you can help shape the lives of children in your area. Care Visions Fostering Scotland are proud to have established network of foster families in Falkirk who regularly meet for support groups in your area. One of our offices is based in Stirling, making it just a hop, skip and a jump away from our carer network in Falkirk.
Our supervising social workers and therapeutic family workers have a wealth of knowledge and experience, with many of them working with children and young people for over twenty years. We’re proud to have great links across Scotland for foster carers to check in with other foster carers in our organisation and learn from each other.
Every foster family is different, but what they all have in common is a shared goal of changing a young life and providing a stable and loving environment for young people to thrive in. All applications in Falkirk are considered, regardless of age, gender, martial status, religious persuasion, sexual identity or nationality.
No formal qualifications are required to become a foster carer, instead we’ll give you the tools and training (link) to build on your own life experience to provide the very best care for our young people.
Life after Covid and the cost of living increasing are things that more prospective foster parents are thinking about. Short term fostering is a route into fostering, which can also be a doorway into longer term fostering if you wanted to. However if you wanted to stay as a short term fosterer that would be fine also - whatever works best for you.
We can go as fast or as slow as you wish in order to guide you through the process. If you are looking to foster sooner rather than later then we use phone, Whatsapp, Facetime, Zoom or whatever technology works for you in order to communicate regularly each week.
At Care Visions Fostering Scotland, we’ll be there for you every step of the way on your fostering journey. So, if you live in Falkirk and you’d like to help change a bairn’s life, why not get in touch today and lets talk
