After you have enquired, we will reach out directly to offer you the chance for an informal chat with our Fostering Recruitment Coordinator. This is the perfect opportunity to ask any questions around fostering, what is involved, and to hear what the rewards and potential challenges are. It is also a good time to speak about the finances involved (including fees and allowances in fostering) to help you with your decision.
An outcome of this phone call could be that, if both parties wished to progress, we could move to the next stage which would involve an initial home visit. This home visit would entail seeing your home, discussing fostering in more depth, including the assessment process.
Areas which were previously a barrier to fostering, regarding someone’s; age, relationship status, sexual orientation, house ownership status, no longer pose restrictions for people wishing to foster.
Care Visions Fostering Scotland celebrates differences and know that when young people are surrounded by successful adults who share similar experiences, they feel less isolated and alone. Also, living with adults who have different identities and life experiences can also enrich a young person's perspective and understanding of others. So, no matter what your background or experiences, we would love to hear from you and have that initial First Call!
As we work across much of Scotland, and staff are spread accordingly, phone calls will be made from a UK mobile number.
