Learning Through Caring

At Care Visions, we take enormous pride in seeing our children flourish. But just as rewarding is watching the transformation in our carers.

Many arrive feeling unsure. But, gradually, they begin to grow - learning to parent in new ways, discovering empathy, patience and strength they never imagined they had.

“Fostering changes you,” says David King, a leading Therapeutic Social Worker at Care Visions. “You begin to understand that behind every behaviour is a need. And when you respond with connection, children begin to trust again.”

Our Foundations for Attachment programme, based on Kim Golding’s DDP model, helps carers understand this. It teaches the power of PACE—Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy—as a way to build safe, healing relationships with traumatised children.

One carer said:

“Although I knew about attachment and PACE, this course helped me cement everything together. I now understand what sits behind behaviours.”

We know fostering can feel daunting, which is why we walk with you from the very start. Our tailored advice, 24/7 phone support, and nurturing training groups ensure you’re never left to figure it out alone.

“I feel like I now parent with a new lens. The training made me look at behaviour differently—and myself, too.”

At Care Visions, education isn’t about ticking boxes. It’s about learning through connection, with support and encouragement at every turn. You will broaden your own horizons and be given the opportunity to gain professional qualifications that allow you to become the best carer you can be. Helping a traumatised child learn how to trust again and then seeing them thrive is an unforgettable and deeply rewarding experience.
