Care Visions Family Talk LIVE
Live with Professor Helen Minnis - ADHD and Trauma, Preventing Negative Cycles at Falkirk Stadium

This live event, from Falkirk Stadium in June 2025, featured Professor Helen Minnis. Speaking on ADHD and Trauma and Preventing Negative Cycles.
Caring for a child with ADHD brings so much energy, uniqueness and challenge, and when trauma is part of their story too, things can feel more complex. If you’ve ever found yourself stuck in a loop, wondering how best to support a young person you care for, this talk is for you.
In this Care Visions Family Talk (Live) with Professor Helen Minnis (University of Glasgow), we dive into how trauma and neurodiversity intersect and explore practical ways to support young people.
About our speaker:
Currently, her focus is on intervention research, including a randomised controlled trial of an infant mental health service for young children in foster care and a randomised controlled trial of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy for primary school-aged children in adoptive or foster placements.
Helen has collaborations with colleagues at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London, the Universities of Aalborg and Aarhus, Denmark and with the Gillberg Neuropsychiatry Centre, Gothenburg, Sweden.
