More About Our Guest:

Gael Cochrane has spent the last 24 years creating educational programmes and delivering training to a broad range of learners. She began her career in Advocacy before moving into work focused on Risk-Taking Behaviours, supporting young people, youth workers, families, and other professionals in youth services. It was during this time that she developed a strong interest in trauma-informed practice. An interest that grew further while she was managing a Prison Visitors Centre.

In her current position as Learning, Development and Innovation Lead with Community Justice Scotland, Gael works with her team to provide core training for Justice Social Workers and the wider justice workforce. She also chairs the National Trainer’s Group for the Stable and Acute Risk Assessment Tools. Over the past six years, Gael has played a key role in designing and delivering restorative justice training for Justice Social Workers, Police Officers, Prison Officers and youth workers. She specialises in training on Serious Harm, Restorative Justice and Hate Crime, as well as Trauma-Informed Restorative Justice.
