About Our Guest:
Dave Clements: Author of The Crisis in the Classroom. Consultant specialising in local government and public services.
Dave is a consultant with more than 20 years' experience working across local government and the wider public sector. Throughout his career, he has led the development of policy and strategy across children's and adults' services, while supporting collaboration between public, voluntary and community sector organisations.
Alongside his consultancy work, Dave has played an active role in shaping public debate. He has been a member of the Battle of Ideas organising committee since 2006 and co-founded the Academy of Ideas Social Policy Forum in 2008. He is a regular commentator on contemporary social policy and has written extensively on education, public services and wider cultural issues.
His work has appeared in publications including The Guardian, HuffPost, The MJ and Spiked. He was also a contributing co-editor of The Future of Community (Pluto, 2008) and contributed to The Future of the Welfare State (Axess, 2017).
