More About Our Guest:

Mary Glasgow is CEO of Children First. She first qualified as a social worker in 1991. Her career includes 15 years working across several local authorities in social work, leadership and training roles, followed by 16 years in the charity sector with organisations including Quarriers and Barnardo’s. Throughout this time, she has focused on developing teams and service models that prioritise the prevention of harm and the delivery of whole-family support, helping to ensure children can live safely within their families and communities.

Mary has extensive experience in children’s rights within both policy and practice. She currently serves as Chair of Together, the Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights, and has previously been a trustee of Starcatchers, Scotland’s arts and early years organisation. She has also served on the Board of Social Work Scotland and is a member of the Children and Families Committee of the Coalition of Care Providers in Scotland. Her professional interests include the impact of childhood trauma and the development of trauma-responsive, relationship-based approaches to supporting children and families.
